On our way back to the bus, we stopped by the Tempio di Apollo which was right in the middle of the street – I love how italiani do that.  It was used by the Greeks and Romans, and was later created into a church by the Christians (and then later used to store gun powder).  It was the first tempio to be built with all stone and no wood.  Isn’t it interesting how other cultures and religions just take other sites that are/were already religiously sacred?  We use the same sites over and over again.  Rather fascinating to think about.  (taken 28.2.2015)
