Right next to la Cattedrale di San Giusto is il Castello di San Giusto, a very antique castle built smack-dab in the center of city on a hill that takes a while to walk up because the streets are too small to be adequately placed on the map and the map gives no sense of altitude.  It was very huge – I was charged for two tickets for some reason when I went to walk on the walls.  Not sure why, but I went with it because the ticket was only a euro.  Oh, the strange stone emblem shown above contains the emblems of the “Thirteen Families of Trieste” – interpret as you will.  (taken 4.4.2015)
